slavonian grebe

I went to Little Brook in Dartford to see a slav grebe and had some fantastic views of this very confiding bird . It came as close as 12 feet at times and in the calm water of the lake . I filled up the memory card in about 30 mins and left very happy.

garden winterland

The extreme cold weather and snow brought in some unusual sightings in the garden today .
Firstly a fieldfare which is a pretty rare garden visitor .

Then a pair of pheasants arrived
The male started chasing the female getting in front of her twisting his body and displaying
he done this 3 or 4 times
 never seen this before !

loads of dipper

When I arrived this morning before work at Three Nun's Bridge there was no sign of the dipper but after speaking to a dog walker he told me it sometimes moves to another part of the river
1/4 of a mile away near a pub could The Bridge
( loads of bridges in Thetford )
He was right !!!

After work I returned and this time it was at Three Nuns Bridge
and much better views
Maybe to many
